Un viaje práctico por el arte de la talla y la textura. Mediante modelado a mano y técnicas decorativas desarrollaremos un programa estructurado paso a paso para dar vida a piezas utilitarias y decorativas llenas de detalle.

Talla y Textura (I Trimestre)

¿Quieres llevar tus creaciones cerámicas al siguiente nivel? Durante este primer trimestre nos sumergiremos en el arte del Carving (talla), explorando cómo el relieve, los calados y las texturas no solo decoran, sino que transforman la función y la estética de cada pieza.

Aprenderás a dominar el vacío, el volumen y el juego con la luz a través de técnicas tradicionales y fascinantes rituales cerámicos orientales.


🎨 ¿Qué crearemos este trimestre?Dividiremos nuestro viaje creativo en proyectos únicos donde juntos elegimos la técnica de modelado que mejor se adapte a tu idea (plancha, pellizco, vaciado, Kurinuki o churros):

  • Textura con Propósito: Diseñaremos objetos utilitarios donde la textura tallada y el vaciado no solo aportan belleza, sino que dan funcionalidad real a la pieza (exprimidores de zumo, ralladores, cestas para fruta).
  • Escultura y Relieve: Exploraremos el vaciado como un elemento puramente decorativo, jugando con sombras, relieves y volúmenes tridimensionales.
  • Magia con Luz (Técnica Hotarude): Descubre este deslumbrante arte japonés. Realizaremos perforaciones en las piezas para luego rellenarlas con esmalte transparente; al hornease, la luz traspasa la cerámica creando delicados rayos translúcidos.
  • Detalle e Ilustración (Técnica Mishima con Engobes): Talla finos patrones sobre el barro y rellénalos con engobes de color para lograr diseños incrustados de gran precisión.
  • Línea fina (Mishima con Pigmentos): Crearemos un elegante soporte decorativo para tartas utilizando reservas con cera, tallado de linea fina y pigmentos de alta temperaturs

Trabajaremos con materiales nobles y resistentes para que tus piezas sean duraderas y aptas para el uso diario:

  • Pastas: Gres y Porcelana.

📋 Términos y Condiciones Resumidos

  • Dinámica de clase: Las sesiones duran 2 h (los últimos 10 min se reservan para limpiar el puesto y herramientas individuales). Trae tu propio delantal y una toalla pequeña.
  • Normas del taller: Cada alumno dispondrá de una estantería propia y límite de materiales por proyecto. La biblioteca y la zona de tés/infusiones están disponibles en clase. Acceso a hornos restringido sin supervisión.
  • Pagos y asistencia: El curso se paga por adelantado y no es reembolsable ni posponible. Se intentará acomodar ausencias en otros grupos solo si hay plazas disponibles (sin obligación de recuperación).
  • Cancelaciones: Si no se alcanza el mínimo de 3 alumnos, el grupo podrá cancelarse ofreciendo cambio de grupo o reembolso completo

A hands-on journey through the art of carving and texture. Using hand-building and decorative techniques, we will follow a structured, step-by-step program to bring detailed functional and decorative pieces to life.

Carving and Texture (Term 1)
Want to take your ceramic creations to the next level? During this first term, we will dive into the art of carving, exploring how relief, openwork, and textures don't just decorate, but transform the function and aesthetics of each piece.
You will learn to master negative space, volume, and the interplay of light using traditional techniques and fascinating Eastern ceramic rituals.

🎨 What will we create this term?
We will divide our creative journey into unique projects where we choose the hand-building technique best suited to your idea (slab, pinch, hollowing out, Kurinuki, or coil building):
  • Texture with Purpose: Design functional objects where carved textures and hollowing out add real functionality alongside beauty (citrus juicers, graters, fruit baskets).
  • Sculpture and Relief: Explore hollowing out as a purely decorative element, playing with shadows, relief, and three-dimensional volumes.
  • Magic with Light (Hotarude Technique): Discover this stunning Japanese art. We will pierce holes into the pieces and fill them with transparent glaze; when fired, light shines through the ceramic, creating delicate translucent rays.
  • Detail and Illustration (Mishima Technique with Engobes): Carve fine patterns into the clay and inlay them with colored engobes for high-precision embedded designs.
  • Fine Line (Mishima with Pigments): Create an elegant decorative cake stand using wax resist, fine line carving, and high-temperature pigments.

  • Class Dynamics: Sessions last 2 hours (the final 10 minutes are reserved for cleaning your workstation and individual tools). Please bring your own apron and a small towel.

  • Studio Rules: Each student will have a dedicated shelf space and a material limit per project. The library and tea area are available during class. Unsupervised oven access is prohibited.

  • Payments and Attendance: Courses are paid in advance and are non-refundable and non-deferrable. We will try to accommodate missed classes in other groups only if spots are available (make-up classes are not guaranteed).
